Front Desk Course

Cala del Forte Marina: Front desk training course for marinas set to begin on 4th November this year

15 candidates will be selected and trained to be front desk operators

Ventimiglia, August 5th, 2019: starting today, candidates can apply for the Front desk Training Course for Marinas, organised by Cala del Forte, Ventimiglia’s new marina. The course is aimed at training professional individuals who could potentially be inserted among the structure’s staff in view of its upcoming inauguration.

Anyone can apply to the course, provided applicants are aged 18 or older. 15 candidates will be selected to take part in the course starting Monday 4th November and lasting until Friday 22nd November. Theory sessions will be held in Ventimiglia in the Multipurpose Hall of Saint Augustine’s Convent, provided by the Ventimiglia - Sanremo Diocese, while the practical side will take place within Monaco Ports’ own structures. In total the course will be developed over 80 hours of classroom lessons and 40 hours of practical activities.

Candidates will be able to apply to take part in the course until the application closing date: 30th September 2019. The fifteen candidates deemed most eligible for the course will be selected on the basis of a series of requirements, including knowledge of English and Italian (internationally qualified as C1) and of a third language (internationally qualified as B2).

Marco Cornacchia, the Cala del Forte Marina’s harbourmaster, stated: in order to train up such key professional individuals, we have chosen to replicate the format we had previously applied to our training course for line handlers, which came to a successful close this past April. This way the human resources selected will be able to provide guests with the same standards of excellence and professionalism that define the Monaco Ports network, which counts Cala del Forte among its marinas. All costs concerning the course’s organisation will be taken care of by Cala del Forte. We are offering participants the chance to gain specialised training to be a front desk operator in marinas, which, aside from participants potentially hired directly by Cala del Forte, will be important for those who will have taken part when it comes to actually covering such a qualified professional role. Let’s not forget that Liguria is the Italian region with the highest number of berths and where many of the leading marinas are located.”

The construction of the Cala del Forte Marina will be completed in the fourth quarter of this year and the structure will become operational in the first months of 2020.

Participation in the training course does not bind Cala del Forte in any way to hire participants.
